Svalbard

In 2019, I had the privilege of visiting Svalbard with my son and a few companions. We embarked on a voyage around the archipelago, and being well within the Arctic Circle, this far north and in the northernmost region of the island, where it is only 600 miles from the North Pole itself, we experienced a truly remarkable journey.

Svalbard presented an awe-inspiring spectacle, serving as a poignant reminder of the fragility of our planet. It also starkly contrasted our attitudes towards environmental stewardship, as this delicate infrastructure and environment are both brutal in their elements yet fragile at the same time.
